On the few occasions that I manage to get out of my law school bubble in Westwood, I like to try new restaurants around Los Angeles. I recently went to brunch with my mom at a cafe that I had been wanting to try for a while, Bondi Harvest. Located in east Santa Monica in a small complex with a warehouse like feel, the cafe was simple, clean, and cute. More importantly, the food was delicious and had tons of healthy options.
Firstly, I had a latte that was truly excellent. I don't think most coffee shops can live up to the almond milk latte that I had at Bondi Harvest. If anything, I'm coming back for that coffee.
Secondly, my breakfast was large and delicious. I ordered the Bondi Breakfast which came with two eggs (fried, scrambled or poached), bacon, roast tomato, mushrooms and avocado served with multigrain bread for just $12. Although seemingly simple, everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mushrooms were earthy and sauteed with kale, which was a lovely surprise. The bread was a major standout. It was thick and slightly sweet, the perfect way to scoop up some eggs and avocado.
Overall, I would highly recommend Bondi Harvest for a solid breakfast. I'll definitely be returning to try out some of their other items on the menu. However, be aware that there is not a lot of indoor seating, so if it is raining, this may not be the best choice.
